Cancellation conditions are regulated as follows:
Depending on the event, if you cancel up to 60 days or 30 days before the start of the event, no cancellation costs will occur.
Under certain conditions, you can nominate another participant up to 7 days before the start of the event to take your place. In this case, too, you will not incur any costs.
After these deadlines, the following rule applies:
In the event of withdrawal/cancellation by you, we have the right to choose between the specifically determined and appropriate compensation and the flat-rate compensation below.
If we choose the lump-sum compensation, the following applies to the settlement:
a) For events without motorcycle rental or transportation, as well as ‘last minute’ offers
- up to the 29th day before the start of the trip 30%
- 80% up to the 13th day before the start of the trip
- from the 7th day before the start of the trip or no-show 100%
b) For events with motorcycle rental or transportation
- up to the 59th day before the start of the trip 80%
- up to the 29th day before the start of the trip 90%
- from the 7th day before the start of the trip or no-show 100%
In any case, we endeavor to keep the costs as low as possible for you. Cancellation fees that are waived in whole or in part by the hotels, forwarding agents or motorcycle rental companies will be deducted from the above flat
Single Room Policy
At the time of booking, the availability of double rooms for single travelers to share with another traveler cannot be guaranteed.
Whether sharing a double room is possible depends on the respective room allocations and the willingness of other single travelers.
Therefore, for bookings by single travelers, the stated single room supplements must always be calculated first.
We of course will review the options for double occupancy and actively offer them to participants.
If a roommate can be found before or at the start of the trip, the single room supplement paid will be refunded. However, this only applies if the service provider (hotel) approves a free cancellation of the previously booked single room. Any cancellation or rebooking fees incurred will be deducted from the refund.
How is the return transport of the riders and bikes from Nice planned?
Our transport company will handle the return transport in an air-conditioned minibus with a trailer.
We will load the bikes the evening after arriving in Nice. The last leg is shorter, so there's plenty of time to get it done in a relaxed manner before dinner.
The following morning, we set off towards Lake Ammersee. The distance is approximately 750 km, which will take us approximately 13 hours to travel.
There are two alternatives to this scenario:
1. You send your bikes alone with the trailer and take a flight to Munich.
2. You drive home under your own steam, alone or together with other participants.
The return transport by bus/trailer can be optionally opted out when booking.
What do the two optional overnight stays at Lake Ammersee mean?
The core event is the Alpine crossing from Vienna to Nice (8 days of biking/9 nights).
We generally start from our base at Lake Ammersee and travel to the starting point in Vienna.
Participants who do not wish to travel with us from Lake Ammersee to Vienna have the option of joining us en route or in Vienna and starting the AlpsChallenge directly from there.
Participants who prefer to start from Ammersee and are traveling from further afield have the option of adding 1 night before the joint journey to Vienna or after our return to Ammersee, which can be booked through us. These 2 nights are offered as an option, as they are not a mandatory part of the event.
For participants who start with us at Ammersee, there is the option of storing your bike trailers with us free of charge during the event.
Booking request to booking in detail
Step 1:
You make a booking request for your desired date using the button or email. You then will receive a confirmation of your request and an invoice for 15% of the travel price.
The deposit is required to secure your request. Your deposit is fully refundable up to 60 days before the start of the event.
Step 2:
As soon as the minimum number of participants for the selected event has been reached, you will receive a message and the opportunity to make a binding booking. After booking, you will receive an invoice for the full travel price minus the deposit paid.
To secure your participation, payment must be received 59 days before the start of the event.
As a general rule: both your booking request and your binding booking are fully refundable up to 60 days before the start of the event. After that, the cancellation policy in accordance with our terms and conditions (GTC) applies.
